Overview

Guardian Fitness initially reached out in 2022 for a website redesign, but the project quickly grew into an ongoing marketing and design partnership. Since then, I’ve worked closely with the Guardian team to strengthen their brand and expand their digital presence.

I manage and continuously enhance their website, oversee their scheduling software, and design recurring marketing campaigns across social media and email. Most recently, our collaboration has expanded into print marketing, where we’ve developed targeted campaigns to reach new audiences and support local growth.

Problem

Guardian Fitness was growing, but their do-it-yourself website and marketing created friction in the customer journey. The site lacked clarity, consistency, and intuitive navigation, making it harder for users to find information, book services, and fully understand the brand’s offerings. Guardian needed a more user-centered digital experience that reduced friction, improved usability, and supported their continued growth.

Analysis and Planning

After several in-person meetings with ownership, I began the research phase with a focus on understanding both business goals and user needs. I conducted a competitive analysis of other gym websites, closely evaluating their user flows, content hierarchy, and conversion paths.

Based on these insights, I designed a streamlined sitemap that clearly organized Guardian Fitness’s wide range of services, making key information easy to find and navigate. I also planned the integration of the GymMaster scheduling software, embedding it directly into the website so customers could quickly and intuitively browse and book classes without leaving the site.

Design Phase

Guardian Fitness chose to remain on Squarespace, which introduced certain design and customization limitations. Within those constraints, I focused on creating a clean, concise interface that prioritized usability, performance, and clarity, using limited custom code only where it added real user value.

The design features subtle scroll-based animations to guide attention without overwhelming users, along with responsive layouts that scale cleanly from desktop to mobile. The site was built with the integrated scheduling software in mind, ensuring a seamless booking experience, and structured to allow for future expansion as the business continues to grow.

Solution and Results

After several months of prototyping, design iteration, and ownership review, the redesigned site launched successfully. Guardian Fitness was highly satisfied with the final product, and customer feedback reflected the improvements—user complaints related to navigation, clarity, and scheduling effectively disappeared. Guardian now had a clean, professional digital presence that matched the quality of their in-gym experience and positioned them strongly within the local market.

Following the launch, ownership opted to continue the partnership. I was contracted to maintain and enhance the website while leading ongoing marketing design across email and digital campaigns. This consistency elevated the brand’s overall professionalism and supported continued business growth.

As the gym expanded, Guardian Fitness launched a second half of their facility under a new monthly membership model, introducing additional equipment and services. The expanded offering attracted new customers, broadened their audience, and contributed to sustained membership growth.

Marketing

Our marketing campaigns are crafted to be bold, eye-catching, and strategically timed to drive class participation and membership growth. From promoting seasonal sales to highlighting specialty classes that cater to all fitness levels, each campaign is tailored to connect with Guardian’s diverse audience. These campaigns are deployed across social media and email, ensuring consistent engagement and measurable results. Looking ahead, we’re expanding into print marketing to reach new audiences and further strengthen local brand awareness.

Photography

My photography approach focused on capturing the energy and authenticity of the Guardian Fitness experience. I set out to show what it truly feels like to be in the gym highlighting both the community atmosphere and individual dedication that define their brand. Through a series of curated photo shoots featuring group classes, personal training sessions, and facility imagery, we were able to bring that story to life across the website and marketing materials. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we continue to schedule quarterly shoots to keep visuals fresh and aligned with ongoing campaigns.
