Overview
Guardian Fitness first approached me in 2022 for a website redesign, but the engagement quickly evolved into a long-term creative partnership. What began as a single project has expanded into ongoing website management, digital marketing, photography, and print design.
Today, I continue to maintain and enhance the website, manage the integrated scheduling platform, design recurring email and social media campaigns, and lead creative initiatives that support the gym’s evolving business goals. As Guardian Fitness has grown, our partnership has grown alongside it, allowing the brand to maintain a consistent identity across every customer touchpoint.
Problem
Guardian Fitness had built a strong reputation locally, but its digital presence no longer reflected the quality of its services. The existing website had been built internally over time, resulting in inconsistent layouts, unclear navigation, and a booking process that required unnecessary steps.
Potential members often struggled to locate information about classes, memberships, and training options, while the overall presentation lacked the polish expected from a modern fitness brand. The business needed a website that was easier to navigate, simpler to maintain, and capable of supporting future expansion.
Analysis and Planning
I began the project by meeting with the owners to better understand both their business objectives and the questions customers most frequently asked before joining the gym.
To identify opportunities, I reviewed competing fitness websites and evaluated how they organized services, encouraged membership signups, and guided visitors toward booking classes. These findings helped shape a new sitemap that grouped information into clear, logical sections and reduced the number of steps required to reach key pages.
Another priority was simplifying class registration. Rather than directing visitors to a separate scheduling platform, I planned an integration that embedded the GymMaster booking system directly into the website. This allowed members to browse schedules and register for classes without interrupting their journey.

Design Phase
Guardian Fitness chose to remain on Squarespace, so the design process focused on getting the most out of the platform while working within its limitations.
The interface was intentionally clean and straightforward, placing the emphasis on content, imagery, and simple navigation rather than decorative effects. Limited custom code was introduced only where it meaningfully enhanced functionality or usability.
The website was fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, with subtle motion used to guide attention without becoming distracting. Every page was designed around the integrated scheduling system, creating a consistent experience from learning about a service to booking a class. The site’s structure also left room for future additions as Guardian Fitness continued to expand.
Solution and Results
Following several rounds of design refinement and owner feedback, the redesigned website launched successfully.
The difference was noticeable almost immediately. Navigation became more intuitive, scheduling was significantly easier, and the website presented a much stronger reflection of the Guardian Fitness brand. Feedback from both staff and members was overwhelmingly positive, and the navigation and booking complaints that had been common before launch largely disappeared.
The success of the redesign led to an ongoing partnership. Since launch, I have continued managing the website while producing digital marketing campaigns that keep the brand active and consistent throughout the year.
As the business expanded, Guardian Fitness introduced a new membership model and opened an additional section of the facility with new equipment and services. The website evolved alongside those changes, providing a flexible foundation that continues to support the gym’s continued success.
Marketing
Our work extends well beyond the website.
Throughout the year, I develop marketing campaigns that promote memberships, seasonal offers, and specialty fitness programs across social media and email. Each campaign is designed around a specific business objective while maintaining a consistent visual identity that customers immediately recognize.
More recently, that work has expanded into print advertising, allowing Guardian Fitness to reach new audiences through local promotions while maintaining the same brand consistency established online.
Photography
Professional photography has become an important part of Guardian Fitness’s brand.
Rather than relying on stock imagery, I organized recurring photo sessions that capture the people, energy, and atmosphere that make the gym unique. The goal was to create visuals that reflected the genuine experience of training at Guardian Fitness while showcasing both the facility and its community.
These images are used throughout the website, social media, email campaigns, and print materials, creating a consistent visual identity across every marketing channel. Quarterly photo shoots ensure the content remains current while providing a steady stream of new assets to support future campaigns.
